Pulse profile

Welcome to Pulse online!

JGH.ca/pulse is the home of a new incarnation of the only JGH publication dedicated exclusively to staff and volunteers throughout the hospital. The print newsletter, available for well over half a century, will be gradually phased out as the JGH shifts to a paperless environment.

In moving online, Pulse will remain faithful to its commitment to celebrate the people belonging to the ‘JGH family’, each of whom plays a role in developing the innovative programs, policies and events and that are the hallmark of the JGH and that propel the hospital from one healthcare achievement to the next.

The goal of Pulse, as ever, is to update all employees on newsworthy developments. The national award-winning publication comes packed with in-depth articles and engaging human interest stories. Most features in Pulse—whether long and informative or short and light-hearted—try to capture the familiarity, sharing and closeness between staff and other staff, staff and patients/visitors, and staff and the community.

We’re always on the lookout for fresh, relevant and compelling content, and invite you to send us your suggestions for articles. We cover not only what you find fulfilling in your work, but what you find challenging, to create opportunities for learning and improvement. Are you involved in an effective and inspiring initiative to enhance patient care that you’d like to introduce to your peers? Have changes in your department helped your work-life balance, and you feel others would benefit? Be in touch!

While the hospital grounds continue expanding, with new pavilions, centres, networks and services, Pulse keeps the JGH family connected. In embracing the digital era, readers will now have an opportunity to communicate even more directly with one another, via our Letters to the editor* page and comments* section at the end of each article.

We look forward to your continued engagement. Subscribe today!
